In the eight years since GXgallery opened, it has grown and developed into one of South London’s most successful commercial galleries. Priding itself in exhibiting and successfully selling strong contemporary fine art from a diverse group of both local and international artists, the gallery has firmly established itself; a key factor in its success has been the willingness to remain malleable and to evolve.
In that spirit and with a view to taking things another step further, GXgallery has created DeviateProjects. Conceived by the gallery’s curator, artist Helene Kazan, DeviateProjects aims to enable projects that might normally veer outside the gallery’s everyday sphere of activity.
Acknowledging its responsibility to explore the far depths of the art world, GXgallery sees the project space as a natural progression as well as a direct response to the hive of artistic activity that resides in South London. To that end, DeviateProjects is committed to sounding out and discovering new and emerging talent, creating collaborations, experimenting with and developing new ideas and exhibitions within contemporary art practice.
